Charles & guys ... Waterloo Street Boy Ministry!

FACEBOOK post, May 4

These crazy guys have had me rolling laughing for over 4 hours, not to mention eating me out of house and home!!!! Bahaha!!! But really, it was amazing as always to hear updates on the street boy work in the Waterloo & Tombo communities. The guys speak with such passion! The love they have for the boys is beyond description! What a privilege to know them and to see them grow in the Lord & His Word!

Progress at Auntie Margaret's!

FACEBOOK post, May 1

Big smiles and laughter at Auntie Margaret's when Cynthia, Simon and Little Margaret heard my voice!! Love these kiddos so much!!

The water tower is up!! The upper pad is poured and ready for the forms to come off. Next steps: purchase water tank and piping to link together the new well, tank and toilet/shower building. Our continued gratitude for the Jefferson City West Rotary Club MO for their heart for this project!!

Easter 2017!

During my time in Texas in Mar/Apr, I treasured every moment with our kids, GRANDS & Tom's mom! I had lots of one-on-one time with Bo, a visit with aunts, uncles & cousins in Granbury, schools events for 3 of the GRANDS, softball games for another, time with various groups at our church (FBC McKinney) and fellowship & worship with folks from 4 other churches, baptismal service for one of our GRANDS, visits with numerous friends who reached out for a chance to catch up over coffee, and the opportunity to assist Tom's mom with things that needed to be done around her home (our home-away-from-home). As always, there were so many friends/family that I was not able to see. There is simply never enough time.

And they're off!!!

On March 31st, Charlie and I delivered the filled barrels to Dallas! There were so many who jumped in to help with gathering supplies, picking up empty barrels & dropping them in Sherman, packing, and helping to offset expenses for this spur-of-the-moment endeavor!  Truly humbling!

March 2017 Update

March 2017

Hello everyone!

I (Becky) am safely in Texas as of this evening, and Tom is holding down the fort in Sierra Leone! I ask for your prayers as I coordinate a shipment of building materials for him, as well as various much needed supplies and food items. This will be far out of my comfort zone, but I’m thankful to have the help of several family and friends.

Happenings:

We were privileged to host The 25 Project teams in November and February! Youth camps for former street boys and orphans, visits to the Tombo fishing village where ministry has expanded, encouragement of so many others that we serve here, and the blessing they were to us personally cannot be overstated! It was wonderful to have them!

The addition of the new water well, raising of a tower for a water tank, and eventual piping leading to the toilet/shower building is coming along great at the orphanage! It is hot, hard, slow work, but will mean so much to Auntie Margaret and the kiddos! Our appreciation to the Jefferson City West Rotary Club in MO for the global grant that has made this possible!

Construction at the special needs school is lookin’ good! The Sierra Leoneans who work alongside Tom are always encouraged by team members, and we can’t wait for May/June as we host the GoSendMe Global bunch from Texas! There may be a couple of slots left for team members, so let me know if you would like info!!

All of our family in Texas are doing well, and I look forward to lots of hugs before I make my way back to Sweet Salone! We believe it will likely be 2018 before we head to the USA again, so I hope to store up plenty of hugs and kisses to hold me over!

THANK YOU so much for your prayers for us and those we serve!  We could not do what we do without you!!  And to our supporters, our deepest gratitude for your sacrifice!

Our love in Christ Jesus! It’s all for the Kingdom!

Beck … (and Tom)
