On May 10th, Ted, Mark & Tom departed DFW for Freetown, Sierra Leone. About 42 hours later they stepped off the ferry in the city. This was after connections in Chicago and London, flying around volcanic ash, refueling in Italy, being denied Algerian airspace, sitting on a tarmack, and eventually arriving at the Sierra Leone airport in Lungi to learn that the President of Sierra Leone had been on the plane with them since London!! A thrilling two days!!
Over the next couple of weeks we will add to this story by sharing the highlights of a month long adventure that included representatives from Mission Direct in the UK, a team from Calgary, Canada, and our very own US team with a special guest from Scotland!
