Old Friends

Old friends

after all of these years,

just old friends

through the laughter and tears,

old friends,

what a find, what a priceless treasure.

Old friends

like a rare piece of gold,

my old friends

brought me in from the cold,

old friends,

through it all I will hold to

old friends!

(Angie, wish you had been with us!)

Mom,
What sweet ladies! I have fond memories of all of you from my childhood years. God truly has blessed our family with such dear friends!
You told me to post a long comment on your blog, so. . .
I am teaching my last lessons of 2007 today. This morning I realized that Christmas is one week from today! Wow! Can't wait to see you, but I'm enjoying these slower days this week since all of the big events that were demanding my time are now over. Thank you, Lord! :)
Christmas time in VH is so special for us because the folks in our church just go out of their way to spoil us and make us feel so loved. . .people keep stopping by to bring us gifts. . .makes me want to cry. :) We have formed some dear, dear, friendships here that we treasure. I think I told you that the quilt that the church gave us on Sunday morning during the morning service was made by a lady in our community that is 92 years old! I have not met her, that I know of, but one of the church ladies and I are planning to go visit with her in January some time. How special. I'm curious as to what the name of the quilt pattern is.
I am trying to tie up loose ends this week before our trip to see you since we will be gone for longer this trip. I have absolutely no excuse not to leave the house very clean.
I am also trying to finish several gifts. I think I should have plenty of time for that, too. Otherwise, it's nice to feel like I have some time to relax. Things were soooooo hectic the last few weeks! I can watch a few Christmas movies now too without feeling guilty! :)
Well, I love you!
Julie
