Tom's reflections - Part #2

One of the boys I met on my first visit to Waterloo is named Alhassan, age 13 (street name: “Father Joe”). He had injured his foot a few weeks earlier and it was plain to see that he was in big trouble if he did not get medical attention soon. Infection was spreading, constant fever, pain up his leg as far as his groin and he was past the point of being able to walk without help.

Becky you need to try an onion poultice. Crush up an onion add some salt and make a paste. Get some gauze or cheese cloth and put the onion mixture in it and place it on the infected toe/body part and leave it for 3-4 hours. Take it off and repeat 3 times a day. Try that and make sure that you don't leave the onion poultice on for more than 4 hours. It may burn and feel real bad but it will hopefully start to look better within a few days. I have some more poultice's to try so email me at mauja@shaw.ca an I will try to put something together for you
